Sweet Hound is an electric band with fire in their hearts and eyes. Starting in the fall of 2009, they came together with songwriter Knayte Lander on lead vocals and guitar, Jeff Thomson on bass and backing vocals and Pete Rahn behind the drum kit. Knayte Lander is a transplant from Akron, Ohio, while the rhythm section of Jeff & Pete came from the Detroit.
While staying true to form, Sweet Hound has no kitsch or agenda. Recalling 60′s rock’n'roll, the Modern Lovers, and on occasion Iggy Pop, the band plays straight to the night and without pretense. Sweet Hound channels intelligent pop songs and driving rhythms in a unique, yet classic way. They garnered immediate attention in November of 2009 opening for the Vacant Lots just 6 weeks after they formed.
Theis Bergstrom joined the group in late 2010 as a second guitarist, and bringing with him a new style that shaped the band towards a louder, more exciting sound. At stage shows, they continue to play to packed crowds thirsty for champagne, cheap beer and full-volume rock ‘n’ roll.
Dig it.
