Champagne Dynasty was formed in the summer of 2010 by curious circumstances. Johnny Morris, a DJ and production engineer contacted Knayte Lander for some in-studio overdubs on a project he was producing. Using samples alongside live instrumentation, they wrote and recorded a handful of raw tracks that eventually were heard by vocalist Alexis Hurley, who took an immediate shine to what they had created. In a matter of weeks, they had begun work on what would be a string of pop gems. Taking the name Champagne Dynasty from the favored drink of it’s members, they set out to mesh their influences and styles coming from electro-pop, hip-hop, dance and dreampop.
